We had some great personal time results from our ‘Magnificent 7’ who completed the Great North Run this year on behalf of the Alan Shearer Foundation. But the best result of all was the final fundraising total of £1,908.91 towards the the Alan Shearer Centre.

This was a great team effort with all at Inspired involved contributing to the funds, but also our runners fundraising away from the workplace with family and friends.

Some of the times were amazing with Cameron Johnstone being the best of the bunch at 2mins 18, and a personal best for James Paterson at 2:58 who beat his time last year of 3:28. He told me beforehand he wanted to hit a target of 3:00 as he felt much fitter than last year.  So a massive well done to him by beating his target by 2 full minutes!

But a special mention must go to Tracy Hollingsworth and Sarah Krzyzanowski who between them hadn’t done much training at all, and Sarah not even running around the block. They stuck together the whole way with Sarah quoted saying afterwards:

“If it wasn’t for Tracy I don’t think I would of made it!
I ******* did it. I may have cried like a baby afterwards but I did it”

What a great achievement by both!

There were other members of our team who completed the Great North Run on their own accord which deserve a mention also. So a big well done to Tom Gunter-heard and Michael Thomson who also finished the course.

So well done to all at Inspired who finished this magnificent running challenge, and raised a great amount for our charity partner – a great achievement!
