Outbound Team Manager

To work on behalf of a large utilities provider, successfully supporting, motivating, coaching, and developing teams of outbound sales associates, in a target driven environment.

The role of the Team Manager will be:

  • To manage 15 sales associates reporting to you
  • To maximise the sales opportunities through the effective motivation and development of the existing and new Outbound Telesales teams
  • To cope with tasks in the time allocated, and have the ability to “think on one’s feet”
  • Responsible for introducing change within the team in a positive light, together with continuous effective communication
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on team members is also necessary, ensuring confidentiality at all times
  • To ensure that any personnel management issues are addressed appropriately and promptly
  • Required to keep up-to-date with business knowledge and learn from experience and personal behaviour

Typical responsibilities

Setting, achieving and maintaining associates objectives to ensure targets are met, whilst retaining, coaching and developing high performing sales associates and minimising attrition.

Ensure quality checks are undertaken and monitored, achieving maximum productivity, and assist Inspired in identifying process improvements which will add value to both Inspired and our client.

Typical day for an Outbound Team Manager

  • Preparing the team for the day ahead
  • Review the previous day results
  • Give a clear indication of what is expected from your team, motivating your team to know they can do better than they did the previous day
  • Coach; develop your sales associates-lead by example. Share knowledge and best practice amongst your team and your peer group. Take responsibility for your productive hours, absence and address any performance issues
  • Liaise with other support functions to continually enhance your own and your teams’ knowledge, skills and achievements
  • Communicate and complete handovers with performance coaches
  • Carrying out appraisals, 1-1s and return to work exit interviews with team members as per Company processes
  • Providing a range of motivation interventions to appeal to a wide range of individuals
  • Creating a positive climate on the team through effective communications, team building, clear focus on objectives and regular feedback
